The Week of August 9th

Greetings from Swedlanda!

It has been awhile since I last posted. I was gone for a week of continuing education at Luther Seminary and after I returned, a crew of Swedlanda men arrived at the parsonage and poured some cement to replace a sidewalk and patio. They did a great job.

The following week I left for a mission trip to Lee Valley Ranch located near Custer in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Pastor Dick Borrud and his wife Cynthia had just celebrated 40 years in camping ministry and were hosting some family members. The Swedlanda crew consisted of me, Jim R., Erik D. and Rick T. from Minneapolis. Our task was to install several doors on the lodge. The work was satisfying and appreciated and the valley and ranch were beautiful, as usual. On the way to the ranch we passed many motorcycles on their way to Sturgis.

God blessed us with some welcome rain on Friday and Saturday. Quite a few were at worship on Sunday. The Lamb family provided special music for the service and Bob and Ruth F. prepared refreshments for the congregational fellowship.

God’s blessings during this week.

Pastor Stewart
